What to Expect from the Global Practicum
During your international immersion, you will examine the geographic, economic, political, social, cultural and competitive factors that shape strategic decision-making in a global marketplace, including:
- Visit international and indigenous companies that represent different economic sectors
- Participate in cultural activities to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s history, politics, and economics
- Meet with leading investors to understand the economic landscape and current challenges

My recent immersion trip to South Korea reinforced the significance of cultural sensitivity and adaptability in global leadership. During this experience, I developed an eagerness to learn foreign languages after observing how even a few Korean words could transform interactions.
The warmth and receptiveness I received from locals when speaking their native language highlighted the importance of building rapport, particularly in professional settings. Language proficiency serves as a critical tool for negotiating and establishing long-term relationships, whether with colleagues or in international business endeavors.

The MBA immersion trip to Vietnam was one of the most impactful experiences of my time at Villanova. Initially, I was hesitant to sign up, having never traveled internationally—but taking that leap pushed me to expand my perspective to a truly global mindset.

Alternate Global Practicum for Non-Travel Students
Students who are unable to travel internationally can participate in an alternate non-travel Global Practicum capstone course. This course explores the same theories and concepts, allowing students to gain the same international business knowledge needed for real-world success, without a country-specific focus.

How the Global Practicum Works
The Global Practicum is the last course in Villanova Professional MBA program. All company visits are interactive and require active participation and contribution by the group.
A typical day during the immersion may look like:

- Historic city tour
- Dinner on your own
