TEXTBOOK ACCESS PROGRAM
The Villanova Textbook Access Program was implemented in 2024 following a thorough review by the Academic Policy Committee, SGA and Graduate Student Senate representatives, the Council of Deans and Executive Council.
Summer 2025
The textbook access program is being revised and will not be run in the summer of 2025. All students will need to purchase course materials on their own, and the bookstore will have all materials available for purchase. All faculty-adopted materials will be available through the bookstore for the summer (and beyond).
The book fee will be charged to the student’s account and repriced annually to help maximize savings. Fees for the 2025-26 academic year will be $20 per credit enrolled and students will be able to opt out of the program if they purchase their materials individually. Every enrolled student will have access to all required textbook materials on or before the first day of class. The Law School, EMBA, Grad Tax, Study Abroad and non-credit programs are excluded.
Once students have selected their courses, their list will be sent to the TV Shop, which will gather the required materials. Students must check their Villanova email for details on how to access their course materials for the term.
Students will have the opportunity to opt out of the program each semester. See the FAQ “Is the program required, or can I opt out of the program?” for more information. Once open, the . The window to opt out for the fall 2025 semester is July 28-September 3. Incoming freshmen can opt out August 15-September 3. If you are only enrolled in courses that start after September 3, you can email the bookstore to opt out during the first week of your course.
Before the start of each term, the University Shop will prepare your course materials for you. Depending on your classes and the course materials required by faculty, you may receive a combination of digital course materials, printed textbooks printed lab manual or workbooks.
All materials will be available on or before the first day of class. Digital materials will be available in Blackboard; physical materials will be available for pick-up in Gary Hall or shipped (for a flat fee - selected in the ) directly to you. Full details on how to access your digital and/or physical course materials for the term will be sent to your Villanova email.
