CALL FOR PAPERS: "LEGACY OF POPE FRANCIS"

From the moment he was introduced as the newly elected Vicar of Christ, Pope Francis made it clear that his would be a unique papacy. How did the writings and speeches of the first pontiff to be a Jesuit and to be from the Global South affect the Church’s understanding and advancement of Catholic social thought?

Scholars are invited to submit an abstract by March 1, 2026. Invitations to submit a full manuscript will go out no later than April 15, 2026. Full manuscripts will be due September 15, 2026, and will go through an approval process. This special issue is slated for publication as Volume 24, Issue 1, in 2027.

BOOK REVIEWS

The Journal of Catholic Social Thought will review scholarly works on Catholic social teaching and closely related topics. Preference will be given to recently released and classic titles. The journal encourages comparative reviews of different titles or comparative reviews of the same title by multiple authors.

Reviews a of single title should be limited to 500-750 words, double spaced and in Microsoft Word format. Include full name, affiliation and mailing address on a cover page. Comparative reviews may need to be longer.
