SUNDAYS IN ST. RITA'S

A biweekly opportunity on Sunday evenings for students to gather in the St. Rita Community Room after the 7 p.m. University liturgy to share food, to learn about Catholicism or to deepen one’s faith in community with others. 

For the start of the 2025 fall semester, we will host four speakers discussing Pope Leo XIV on each September Sunday, beginning at 8 p.m.

Pope Leo, My Friend: Stories from Peru and Beyond with Rev. Art Purcaro, OSA, Assistant Vice President, Office for Mission and Ministry  

Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn about Fr. Art’s friendship with Pope Leo over the years in Peru and beyond. Fr. Kevin DePrinzio, OSA, will join Fr. Art to share and invite us all into a deeper sense of friendship and understanding of our Villanova Pope. Tonight's presentation takes place in Doughery Hall, West Lounge. Registration required.

In his first words to the world, Pope Leo XIV said, “I am a son of Augustine.” Join us as we explore what that means for Pope Leo and all of us at Villanova. Come curious and leave inspired in your journey of faith as we celebrate the beauty of being part of the Augustinian community (and as we celebrate Pope Leo’s birthday!)

“We are the Now of the Church”: Responding to Pope Leo’s Call, with TV Synodal fellows, Hannah Kalamarides, COE ’26 and Bube Osaji, ’26 

We all contribute to shaping Pope Leo’s legacy, especially on Villanova’s campus. Join us for an inspiring conversation as we strive to embody the synodal church that Pope Leo calls for: a listening community that genuinely hears and values the voices of all, especially young people. Seniors Hannah and Bube, our Villanova Synodal Fellows, will invite us to understand in a powerful way what it means to walk together in faith, following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Whatever is on your mind or heart, your Villanova community will lift it up in prayer. Submit your petitions to be remembered at our Centering Prayer twice a week, as well as at daily Mass. Names and requests are not shared aloud or posted publicly.
